Real Salt Lake to defend their Cup and a miracle?
Well before we think we will make it back to the MLS Cup match next November, RSL has committed to defending the first piece of hardware they won in 2009. The Charleston Battery have announced that Real Salt Lake will be taking part in the 2010 Carolina Challenge Cup and defending their 2009 championship. DC United and Toronto FC , will join RSL as they journey to Charleston for the annual tournament.
This should prove to be a good preseason trip for RSL, it is interesting to note that with the exception of 2008 the winner of the CCC has gone on to win wither the Supporter Shield, or the MLS Cup. Perhaps the start of RSL's Back to Back campaign will start in Charleston.
Oh and do you need something to get you in the Holiday mood? How about a story about a miracle, check it out after the jump.
So that is a bit unfair but if you happened to check out FIFA.com today:
You have to love that it may be a bit late but wow to see our coach and our team highlighted on the FIFA site, is impressive. I highly suggest taking a few minutes to read the article (click here) It isn't fancy but it is well done and worth the read.

solid piece
although as a journalist and page designer the widowed headline on that page (the word “Lake” all by itself) offends me deeply. But a good read. Thanks for finding that, denz.
Uh, do you think you could draw me like a ninja?
wasn't me
I wish I could claim credit. It came across as part of the RSL daily update communication. I did thing that was a bit odd as well, but it is FIFA and they lack a lot of things when it comes to design and they also struggle as they are almost all ESL (English as a Second Language) folks.
I think it is funny how critical RSL fans are of Jason but both on a national and international stage his level of prestige is moving up. I can’t wait to see what happens when he studies enough and gets more comfortable in the role as head coach.
Count me among Jason's backers
I’ve been in interviews and press conferences with him a couple of times, and you can never doubt the man’s commitment, intensity or desire to win. He’s made mistakes, but I think they stem directly from his relative youth and inexperience as a manager, as well as that same intensity (being TOO intense/emotional). Those are the kind of mistakes I can easily forgive.
