One Year Anniversary post - oh what a year it has been for RSL and RSL Soapbox
Well it was 11-20-09 when RSL Soapbox launched, it was a great launch from the road. In fact it was just outside of Tacoma, WA on my way to Seattle and to watch Real Salt Lake win the 2009 MLS Cup. It was an incredible week, and has been followed by what has been a stellar year to be a RSL fan and blogger, a run that saw the team end just 3 points shy of the Supporter's Shield, being the first MLS team to win a Champions League group, setting all kinds of team and MLS records.
Off the pitch it was a fun year for me, a new blog that has brought new opportunities and new challenges. Over 120K people have come by to read the blog, and about 175K page views from the 615 posts that have been made. Not incredible numbers by any stretch but for the 300 or so people who are dead loyal readers of my blog, I say thank you.
Now the question is what is next? I would love to up those numbers to about 500 diehard loyal readers, the question is what can I do in order to reach more people? I have asked you all in the past, and usually people don't say too much, so I have continued to focus on original content, sometimes humorous, sometimes controversial, but always meant to entertain those of you who read this site. I have started posting some of the MLS and RSL press releases, and I will probably increase that. I know others do that on a more regular basis but it helps with content.
Anyhow on the eve of MLS Cup, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has stopped by, signed up, followed on twitter (@rslsoapbox), became a fan of my facebook page. Here is hoping that the next year is even bigger and better.

More than 1 year?
What about the full history including your previous site? Your first “soapbox” post was actually May 26, 2007. You owe yourself at least a nod to how long you’ve actually been toting that soapbox around with you (3+ years).
Regardless, I’ve enjoyed the content here (with rare exceptions), so thank you.
very true
but I was looking at the move to this version of the soapbox. I think if reality were know I have been on my RSL Soapbox since the first match, but then it was the form of fun and sometimes heated discussions in the parking lot of Rice Eccles Stadium
