Real Salt Lake Roster down to 24

Yesterday Real Salt Lake waived Tino Nunez and sent Alex Nimo back to Portland on another year long loan, this dropped RSL down to a 24 man roster.

I am hoping Tino gets picked up somewhere in MLS or USL, he has a great touch on the ball and I feel he suffered from a lack of a reserve division where he could have gotten more playing time.  He is a great person and hopefully we will see him catch on somewhere.

Alex Nimo joined the Timbers again yesterday and wasted no time getting into action, he entered in the 54th minute of the Portland vs. Seattle in the SSFC version of the Community Shield.  He helped Portland maintain their 1-0 lead which was the final score on a very rainy night at Qwest field.  Former RSL player Ian Joy played the full 90 minutes for the Timbers, and was a vital part of their defense all night long.  You can read a full match report on the Timbers website.

This drops RSL down to 24 players, but if the rumored move to bring in striker  Alvaro Saborio pans out, then Real will need to clear up one more spot.  Like most people I tend to believe that would be one of RSL's 3 young defenders: David Horst, Chris Schuler, or Rauwshan McKenzie.  Horst has a couple years with the team, McKenzie has some time with KC, and Schuler was a pick that many pundits say may have been the steal of this years MLS draft.  I wonder if it would be a move to loan out one of the three or to simply cut one of the young players loose?
