Real Salt Lake lands their striker

Well after several weeks of speculation, yesterdays downsizing of the roster, today was the day that it became official:

It's About Time.. It's Alvaro from Behind the Shield which provides some details about the deal and the paperwork that still has to be done.

Alvaro Saborio is officially a done deal. While there's still some issues to hash out (such as the finalization of his work visa and the International Transfer Certificate getting from his Swiss club, FC Sion, to the folks at US Soccer), we can acknowledge that the Costa Rican is indeed with the squad (finally), and, even better, that he'll be eligible to suit up for RSL's Carolina Challenge Cup opener tomorrow against D.C. United

You can check his wikipedia page for more info, perhaps the biggest stat is his 22 international goals in 55 appearances for the 27 yr. old.

Here are a couple video clips from youtube:

Only time will tell if he becomes the next big import or not, but it shows that RSL was serious about getting some more fire power up top.
