SB Nation MLS Power Rankings

So the SB Nation Soccer blogs rank the teams and they are then put into tiers, I rank the teams simply worst to first as I posted earlier this week.  Here are the rankings that came out of the group:

Tier 4 - Teams That Should Be Relegated

SJ Earthquakes 0 0 4
DC United 0 0 4

The SBNhanced MLS Power Rankings are a collaborative effort by SBN's soccer bloggers to rank the MLS teams each week.

Week 2 rankings.  Updated 4/6/10.

I had to move RSL out of the top tier because of their loss but I think the best matchups of the weekend are the RSL vs. Sounders and the Galaxy vs. Dynamo matches, which could be huge on these rankings.  Columbus, and KC could drop like a rock as they play their second matches of the season.

So what are your thoughts about this ranking system?

I like the system of putting the teams into tiers. It gives a good view of the league. By the way, when will the league go to one table?

probably in 2011 or 2012

I have heard rumors that it will happen next year, since there would be two new teams coming into the Western Conference, going to a single table (still with playoffs) would eliminate the need to realign teams.

It will be interesting to see how things work with 18 teams for scheduling vs. 16 which seems a perfect match for a 30 match schedule.

Thanks

It seems every move the league is making points toward a single table. It will be nice when that happens.
