It's great to see Jimmy Neilsen getting so much love from the fans
but there’s just no respect from anyone else.
I think he paid
his agent to vote for him over and over again. Or the KC fans knew he was their one shot at getting a player into the lineup. Reality check is that he played well the first two months, but now KC is back to being the worst team in MLS.
2009 Starting XI
Kasey Keller
Chad Marshall – William Conde – Geoff Cameron
Guillermo Barros Schelotto – Freddie Ljungberg – Shalrie Joseph – Stuart Holden – Dwayne De Rosario(won’t be there has a Champions League match)
Conor Casey – Landon Donavon
Only 4 players made the list last year and this year. Landycakes, De Ro, GBS and Chad Marshall (which confuses me, he is good but really?)
The KC push for Jimmy Neilsen is bizarre. This had to have been an organized move right? Did they tap into their Indian fan base? He has by far the highest number of fan votes. Almost double that of landycakes. EVERY American had to have voted for Landycakes.
I’d say Bornstein and Conde both deserve it more than Marshall, but their teams aren’t winning games. Borchers, and to a lesser extent Wingert deserve it more than Marshall as well IMHO.
I’d rather Le Toux over Pappa or GBS.
Hopefully old man river (or should i say old man boca) will decline the invite as rumored.
fan votes
MLS didn’t do Landon any favors, he has 0 goals and isn’t a striker, they kinda forced people to vote for him, but a lot of fans wont for a striker without goals. I didn’t vote for Landon, as a fan or as a media member.
I did vote for Le Toux, and Pappa, I didn’t vote for Kyle. Pappa is the only thing keeping Chicago’s head above water right now. I believe Le Toux will be named to the team, I also believe Conde, and Borchers will be named as well as Saborio and Rimando.
The LA players have a CCL match against the PR Islanders the night before and will be flying in on game day, Seattle actually has a CCL match the same night as the All Star match, good thing MLS can move things for SuperLiga but not their own All Star match or Champions league?
Beckerman is d-mid
you can’t play with nothing but offensive minded players and to be honest even after missing 6 matches Kyle is one of the best defensive midfielders in the league. Angel, is good but I actually would take Saborio over him at forward. Angel is a lazy player and it bites New York in the butt when he won’t play defense, now add in Handball Henry and they will have two guys who get flagged for offsides a lot. They will score goals but a lot of offside flags, and teams will be able to counter against them.
Le Toux will get there, he is a perfect midfield/forward for this type of match. Speed, size and works as hard as anyone on the pitch.
