U.S. Men's National Team head coach Bob Bradley has named 18 players to the roster that will face five-time FIFA World Cup champions Brazil on Tuesday, Aug. 10, for the USA's first match since the 2010 FIFA World Cup. More than 55,000 tickets have already been sold for the first meeting between the two nations at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN2, Univision and ESPN Deportes Radio. Fans can also follow the match live online via ussoccer.com's MatchTracker and twitter.com/ussoccer.

Here is a by position breakdown of the US Squad:

U.S. MNT Roster by Position
GOALKEEPERS (2): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton)
DEFENDERS (6): Carlos Bocanegra (Saint-Étienne), Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover), Clarence Goodson (IK Start), Chad Marshall (Columbus Crew), Jonathan Spector (West Ham United)
MIDFIELDERS (7): Alejandro Bedoya (Örebro), Michael Bradley (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Benny Feilhaber (Aarhus), Jermaine Jones (Schalke), Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht)

Seriously? Mid-Season? Is this a FIFA date/does he have to go?

This is exactly the kind of roster I did not want to see for this game. I didn’t want to see Bob Bradley hanging around anymore. I don’t think Buddle or Gomez will be good enough for 2014. Why waste even a single game of the cycle playing people who can’t contribute at that level. Rio 2014 starts now.

It is a FIFA date

Remember that most leagues haven’t started yet. I am fine with him missing a match, we seem do have done really good in May and June when he was gone. I think he is looking at options, and who is healthy. This is also a big prestige match coming off the World Cup, so putting in a fairly solid roster is a good thing.

After all the speculation on the Interwebz, I am looking forward to seeing Jermaine Jones.

agree

I was actually hoping that they might bring in Yura. I think with his current form in Europe that he should be getting some type of consideration, but without a full blown camp i am not expecting to see him on the roster.

On the contrary...

Even though we will probably lose Robbie for the match on the 11th, it’s still gotta be a big confidence boost for him.
