Tony Beltran could be in line for a start against Canada, winning his first cap for the U.S. in the process.

Real Salt Lake right back Tony Beltran could be in line for his first appearance for the senior U.S. national team today as the team takes on the Canadian national team.

Beltran, who was a part of the United States U-20 team in the 2007 World Cup, has yet to feature for the men's team. He played more than any other Real Salt Lake player in 2012 as he made a significant step up following the departure of Robbie Russell.

Kyle Beckerman is widely expected to be involved from the get-go as one of the more senior players in the MLS-heavy camp — a sure turnaround from the pre-Klinsmann era, in which he was less frequently involved.

Former Real Salt Lake midfielder Will Johnson, now with Portland Timbers, is not involved in Canada's current set of friendlies.

The match airs at 7 p.m. MST on ESPN2, WatchESPN, and Univision Deportes.
