OK, no graphs today just a quick look at the numbers:
31 points from 17 matches- at the same pace RSL would end the year with 54 or 55 points and clearly in the playoffs. In both 2008 it took RSL until week 23 to get to this point, and last year it took until week 24.
RSL is tired for most goals scored in MLS with the LA Galaxy, both have 29 goals scored. RSL hit this point in week 20 last year, and in week 23 in 2008.
RSL's defense is much improved, they have given up just 14 goals, tied for 3rd best in MLS. Last year after 17 matches RSL had given up 21 goals, in 2008 they had allowed 19, the number is the lowest total the team has allowed thru 17 matches in their history.
Real Salt Lake is chasing the LA Galaxy (40 points-18 matches) and the Columbus Crew (34 points-17 matches) for the Supporter Shield, they are also waiting to see who the final two teams in their CONCACAF Champions League group will be. It is going to be a fun couple months as we watch Real Salt Lake continue their journey towards another MLS Cup and whatever other trophies they can claim.
