Group A is set for CONCACAF Champions League

Well two matches on Tuesday night determined what two team would join Real Salt Lake and Arabe Unido of Panama. Cruz Azul took a 3-2 lead into their second match with San Francisco, and they poured it on to get a 6-0 win at home and 9-2 victory in the series.

The second match featured Toronto FC against Motagua of Honduras, TFC had a 1-0 lead in the series based on last weeks match at BMO field.  Montagua scored first to tie the series, then Toronto scored to give them a 2-1 lead in the series, but the team from Honduras wasn't done as they scored again, but in the end it was a second goal by Toronto that put this one away as TFC will join Group A as the second MLS team in the groups based on their 3-2 series win.

So this means we know what the first two matchweeks will mean for teams in Group A:

Week 1

Tuesday, August 17th
Cruz Azul at Toronto FC

Wednesday, August 18th
Arabe Unido at Real Salt Lake

Week 2

Tuesday, August 24th
Toronto FC at Arabe Unido

Wednesday, August 25th
Real Salt Lake at Cruz Azul

So the question will be can Real Salt Lake continue their undefeated ways at Rio Tinto on the 18th, and can they become the first Major League Soccer team to win a CCL match in Mexico against a Mexican team?

The second round of group stage matches will take place in matchweeks 3 (Sept. 14th-16th), and 4 (Sept. 21st-23rd), and then the group stages will wind up with matchweeks 5 (Sept. 28th-30th) and 6 (Oct. 19th- 21st).  The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout round which will start in late February of 2011.
