Tuesday Real Salt Lake News Update

There are a couple of things that I wanted to share today, that alone probably don't get a whole blog post.

First, there is an interesting SBJ article about some choices MLS must deal with.  Now I don't agree with all his points but it is something to get you thinking.

Then there is a great writeup about RSL asst. coach C.J. Brown from ESPN Chicago, I have to say I think it was a great thing for Garth and Jason to get C.J. on our staff.  He brings a depth of knowledge that few players or coaches can match.

Finally, MLS has decided to suspend Jean Alexandre for 1 match for a tackle on Saturday, here is the info from MLSHQ:

MLS Disciplinary Committee Suspends and Fines Real Salt Lake's Jean Alexandre

NEW YORK (June 21, 2011) - The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee today suspended Real Salt Lake midfielder Jean Alexandre for one game and fined him $500 for an egregious and reckless tackle that endangered the safety of his opponent in the 49th minute of the match against D.C. United on June 18, 2011. Alexandre will be suspended for Real Salt Lake's June 22, 2011 against the Chicago Fire

Fines collected are donated to MLS W.O.R.K.S., Major League Soccer's community outreach initiative dedicated to addressing important social issues affecting young people and serves as a platform for both League and club philanthropic programs.  MLS W.O.R.K.S. seeks to establish Major League Soccer as a leader for improving the lives of people through sport.

anyhow, I will be working on my RSL vs Chicago Fire match preview tonight, so be looking for it in the morning.
