Major League Soccer kicks of Week 17 with 4 midweek matches

There are 4 matches on tap for Wednesday a couple could be blowouts but I think a couple will be very entertaining, so lets take a look at them:

Toronto FC at New York Red Bulls - 6pm MT - Direct Kick

On paper you have to believe that the Red Bulls will get a win in this one, but TFC is coming off two wins last week in MLS play and in NCC play (granted both were over Vancouver) and could prove dangerous. But I am going with a Red Bull 2-1 win, but wouldn't be surprised if it ended in a draw.

Colorado Rapids at Sporting Kansas City - 6:30pm MT - Direct Kick

Two teams that are heading in different directions, the defending MLS Cup Champions have just one win in their last 5 matches, while Sporting KC have 4 wins in their last 5 matches.  LIVESTRONG Sporting Park will be where this match takes place and I just don't think the Rapids will be able to get a result in this one, Sporting KC has too many weapons.  A 2-0 win for the the hottest team in MLS Sporting KC.

Columbus Crew at Vancouver Whitecaps - 8:00pm MT - Direct Kick

Columbus should be the favorite in this one but they have just one road win so far this year (1-4-3) and Vancouver for all their faults has just one loss at home this year (2-1-5).  I am thinking a 1-1 draw in this match but with an expansion team you never know when an individual will step up and carry his time to victory.  Calling Eric Hassli, please report to pick up your team.

San Jose Earthquakes at Chivas USA - 8:30pm MT - Direct Kick

Chivas will be looking to regain some type of form, 3 losses in their last 5 matches has to have the players and coaches wondering what happened.  Can they turn things around against a San Jose side that are 2-3-2 on the road and 2-1-2 in their last 5.  Sounds like a draw to me, going 2-2 in this one.

Sorry for the short previews and pick, it is a busy day at work.
