With the 24th pick in the 2012 Major League Soccer Draft, Real Salt Lake Selects: Diogo de Almeido

Well with our first pick Real Salt Lake accomplished something that I don't think anyone saw coming, they got a qualify offensive midfielder who will not cost them a penny in cap room in 2012 as we got Generation Adidas player Enzo Martinez, so next up is the 24th pick which we get from Chivas USA (I believe it was part of the deal that let them get Robin Fraser), but there are still some players that I really like left in the draft. So with the number 24 pick, RSL selects:

DIOGO de ALMEIDA

He is a 23 yr old 6'0" defender who played for SMU and is from Brazil.

I will be honest, I don't know much about this player but I am trusting in the RSL staff who know what the team needs are. Here is his profile page from SMU and his numbers from college:
