In case you've forgotten already, Alvaro Saborio scored one of the classiest goals seen in Claret and Cobalt just over one year ago in the first leg of the Western Conference semi-final against Seattle Sounders.
It's the goal that put RSL up 2-0, and with another from Ned Grabavoy, sent them to Seattle holding a 3-0 lead — just enough to win out with a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.
That match did, however, see Jamison Olave and Nat Borchers both substituted — the former in the first half — through injury, giving RSL coach Jason Kreis a bit of a problem when the second leg came around.
With RSL facing similar injury concerns as they did going into that match, it remains to be seen whether that will play a role or not. Kreis, though, took a cautious approach to his lineup in the final match of the season, which could well be the tipping point.
