After allowing goalkeeper Kyle Reynish to pass into the MLS Re-Entry Draft, the ink has dried on a contract with Tampa Bay Rowdies goalkeeper Jeff Attinella — a player who Real Salt Lake drafted in 2011.
Attinella, who played every match in 2012 with NASL's Rowdies, was voted in the NASL 2012 Best XI and received plaudits throughout the season for his goalkeeping.
It is expected that Attinella and Lalo Fernandez will be battling for the second spot behind RSL's number one (er, 18), the ever-constant Nick Rimando.
Attinella joins Aaron Maund as the only two players to arrive today. Nine players have departed since the end of the season, with eight of those coming in a flurry today.
The moves leave RSL's roster count at a scant 19. Garth Lagerwey and Jason Kreis will now set out to sign players. The first round of the MLS Re-Entry Draft is on Friday.
OUT: Paulo Jr., Bonfigli, Steele, Reynish, Braun, Espindola, Olave, Muñiz, Johnson
IN: Aaron Maund, Jeff Attinella, Cole Grossman
