Major League Soccer and USL Pro announced a partnership today that will establish interplay between USL Pro and MLS Reserves sides.

Each USL Pro team will compete in two interleague matches against an MLS Reserve side, one home and one away; those matches will count in both USL Pro standings and MLS Reserve League standings. Real Salt Lake's reserves will play against FC Phoenix, the home leg of which will take place at Rio Tinto Stadium. The two clubs do not have an exclusive affiliation.

MLS clubs who have made formal affiliations with a USL Pro club will not participate in the 2013 MLS Reserve League. Neither MLS clubs nor USL Pro are not required to enter into an affiliation.

Further details are set to be released in the coming days on the affiliation.
