Real Salt Lake's new kit sponsor will be nutraceutical outfit LifeVantage, according to a club-confirmed report in Sports Business Journal. The company will replace Xango on the front of RSL's jerseys in 2014.
The article reports that the deal is one of the league's largest, running for 10 years at around $30 million. As a point of comparison, the Rio Tinto Stadium naming rights were pegged between $1.5 and $2 million annually, also running for 10 years (expiring in 2018).
That the jersey deal is reportedly between 150 and 200 percent greater than the stadium naming deal speaks to the consecutive rises of Real Salt Lake and Major League Soccer in the U.S.
LifeVantage is a direct-selling, multilevel marketing company and the marketer of Protandim, their key product. They are a publicly traded company, LFNV on the NASDAQ, and are headquartered in Salt Lake City.
