Kwame Watson-Siriboe out for 2013 after meniscus, ACL surgery

Douglas C. Pizac-USA Today Sports

Kwame Watson-Siriboe has undergone reparative knee surgery after tearing his right miniscus and rupturing his right ACL, Real Salt Lake Communications reported today. He will miss between six and eight months of action, which rules him out for the entirety of 2013.

The news comes after yesterday's report that both Chris Schuler and Kwame Watson-Siriboe could be set to miss an extended period with injuries.

Watson-Siriboe's injury and Schuler's ongoing foot issues leave Real Salt Lake in a very delicate position in the back, with only three uninjured center backs available. Carlos Salcedo will almost certainly start on Saturday, but RSL may wisely look at short-term or long-term acquisitions to fill the widening defensive gap.
