Real Salt Lake end season with win against Chivas

Susan Ragan-USA TODAY Sports

Real Salt Lake came out guns a blazin' with some clear chances early on and throughout but were just off the mark. The game quickly got chippy with Chivas USA looking like they were resorting to physical tactics to try and stop RSL's sustained attack. In the midst of a set piece, Alvaro Saborio was taken down in the box and was awarded a PK. Sabo faked right and bulleted the ball left and TSL took the 1-0 lead into the half.

the second half had a similar feel to the first with plenty of chances for the home team but an inability to finish. An already one-sided affair became more so when Chivas' Chavez got sent off for kicking the ball at the ref. More chances came and a nice build up resulted in a Kyle Beckerman goal off of an assist from Plata. RSL dominated possession for the rest of the night and Chivas parked the bus and RSL ended their season with a win in what was likely Chivas USA's last game as a franchise.
