Five years ago today, Real Salt Lake won an MLS Cup. Watch the full match here.

It's been five years since Real Salt Lake tasted the oh-so-delicious taste of silverware. 2009: An MLS Cup win. Penalties. The drama of it all.

In the intervening time, Real Salt Lake has made three cup finals: CONCACAF Champions League in 2011, US Open Cup in 2013, and MLS Cup in 2013. None of those matches have come close to matching the excitement of that day.

Let's not let any of that take away from the glory we've been privileged with. KICKTV released this video in Feb. 2013, and it seems like as good a time as any to hoist this upon you all.

Five years. Can you believe it's been that long?

The players to have played that day: Nick Rimando, Nat Borchers, Jamison Olave, Robbie Russell, Chris Wingert, Kyle Beckerman, Will Johnson (Ned Grabavoy, 48'), Javier Morales (Clint Mathis, 22'), Andy Williams, Robbie Findley, Yura Movsisyan (Fabian Espindola, 75'). Still at the club today: Nick Rimando, Nat Borchers, Chris Wingert, Kyle Beckerman, Ned Grabavoy, Javier Morales, Robbie Findley. That list will undoubtedly be changing in the next month, so let's just take a moment to remember all the great moments — regardless of what you think about the players now, they were a part of this historic moment. Let's take a few minutes (or 120-plus) to recall the greatness.
