Beckerman, Rimando sign three-year contract extensions

Real Salt Lake has extended contracts for Kyle Beckerman and Nick Rimando, RSL communications confirmed today.

That was initially revealed by RSL owner Dell Loy Hansen during an interview on ESPN700.

Beckerman and Rimando both joined Real Salt Lake in 2007, and if they see out all three years of these contracts, they'd be with the club for 10 years - and they'd be the first to do so as players. Andy Williams, of course, was a Real Salt Lake original, having been with the club from the first season, and he remains here as a coach. He just wrapped up his tenth year at the club.

Beckerman, 32, and Rimando, 35, look set to end their playing careers in Salt Lake City. Real Salt Lake is yet to feature a true one-club player, but these two are truly ensconced as Utah legends.

A deal is also in the works with Joao Plata that would see the Ecuadorian sign a five-year contract. More on that one as it becomes finalized.
