Real Salt Lake produced their best display of the still-young season with a 3-0 win over high-flying Toronto FC, and with two first-half goals keeping the result safe from the early moments.
Alvaro Saborio opened the scoring with a penalty past Julio Cesar. Olmes Garcia won the opportunity, going down from a challenge just inside the corner of the box.
Luis Gil scored the second, pouncing on a low cross from Chris Wingert that bounced around the box. Gil's goal was particularly significant as it was scored in front of a visiting Jurgen Klinsmann.
The third was the best of the bunch, as Cesar's goal kick fell straight to Javier Morales, whose pinpoint pass to Saborio was as perfect a pass as he's had all season. Saborio, alone in front of Cesar, finished with a cheeky little chip, rounding out his best performance in some time.
