Carlos Salcedo has been called up for the Under-21 Mexico national team for the first time, joining a strong contingent of young Real Salt Lake players with their youth national teams.
Salcedo has previously been involved in youth national team camps, but this is the first time he's reached this level. In a eal Salt Lake press release, Salcedo expressed his excitement about the call-up.
"It's always exciting to represent your country, and this is a very big camp for me," he said. "I'm just really excited to show the coaching staff how much I've developed since I came to Real Salt Lake, and how much my game has grown in MLS."

Benji Lopez and Jordan Allen have themselves been involved this week with the United States U-20s. Lopez scored a goal today against an Eintracht Frankfurt youth side, and Allen had two assists yesterday against a River Plate youth team.
