Early estimates from reports, such as the one above, indicate a three-month absence, which is about what one would expect for an injury of that nature.
It comes as a blow not only for Costa Rica, but for Real Salt Lake as well, who already were set to miss him during his international absence but will miss him further.
The injury was reportedly suffered this morning during a training session.
According to a report from Salt Lake Tribune reporter Chris Kamrani, Real Salt Lake have not set a timetable for recovery but are aware of the injury.
#RSL Sabo statement.: "We have seen X-Ray, but discussions on course of treatment are ongoing, so no timetable is yet to be determined."
