A 10-man RSL unable to beat Chivas in L.A.

RS l put in a full shift against Chivas but will come home without a point to show for it.

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

RSL came onto this match looking to regain the form that they had early in the season after a needed break to clear their minds after a streak of poor performances. RSL came out of the gates with determination and looking to score. That effort was derailed when Luke Mulholland made a dangerous, studs-up, high tackle in the 9th minute and RSL was forced to 10 men for the vast majority of the game. It did not take Chivas too long to capitalize when Cubo Torres was able to volley the ball off of a great cross. RSL kept pushing but Chivas took the one goal lead into the half.

RSL left the locker room and pretty much dominated the second half but were unable to get many quality shots off to level the match. Towards the end of the match, there was a questionable no call in which Joao Plata was hammered to the ground in the box, but the ref said "play on." The game ended in another defeat for RSL.
