Real Salt Lake came out with a vengeance with a quick start and a nice goal off of a set piece with Luke Mulholland scoring his fifth goal of the season. Morales and Schuler put in some good work to make the goal happen and Mulholland slotted it past the keeper.
With their playoff hope slowly fading, Montreal fought hard and got a textbook goal from Camara in which he made a run that left RSL shaking their heads. RSL had penty of chances in the first half but could not pull the lead back.
theturning point in the game came in the second half when Nakajima-Farran committed a studs-up tackle on Chris Schuler and was shown a red card leaving the Impact with 10 men. five minutes later Morales connected with Olmes Garcia who opened up his account after not having scoted for over a year. And what a goal it was. He headed the ball so cleanly to the far post that the Montreal keeper had no chance to stop it.
in the dying minutes of the game Garcia put a tough goal in on a difficult angle and RSL sealed the game earning a much needed three points to stay in second place in the West.
