Player ratings: Beckerman, Rimando bring a win with their return

On a night that RSL fans were able to welcome home Kyle Beckerman and Nick Rimando from international duty, the leaders brought the club back to its winning ways.

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6.5 Nick did not really have to make any miraculous saves, and that's okay. If your keeper has as many saves as Howard did against Belgium, there's a problem.

Chris Wingert - 6 Maybe I am being to hard on WIngert lately, but he did have a decent game against the Revolution. He still could do better in possession though.

Chris Schuler - 7 Schuler looks masterful and dominant when he plays. All the World Cup 2018 U.S. Men's Team roster predictions are missing one player: Chris Schuler.

Nat Borchers - 6 It looked like Borchers may have been robbed of a goal which would have opened his 2014 account. He lost his man once or twice and got lucky that the Revs didn't capitalize.

Tony Beltran - 6.5 This was a pretty typical performance for Beltran. Nothing spectacular, but no glaring mistakes either.

Kyle Beckerman - 7.5 For me, Beckerman was the best player on the field. He may have not been playing to his capabilities, probably due to jet lag, but he was really good and led the team back to winning.

Luis Gil - 6.5 GIl got involved in the attack a good amount but was unable to thread the needle on his final passes.

John Stertzer - 7 Stertzer looked good in his role. He is looking more and more comfortable with the more time he gets. Go figure. He earned the second PK that gave RSL the winning goal which deserves a nod.

Javier Morales - 7.5 Morales put in all the effort you could ask of him and was able to create enough chances for RSL to get the win. He coolly put in a PK that set them in motion towards the victory.

Devon Sandoval - 5.5 Big Dev needs to find his form from the end of last season. He gets the ball in dangerous spots but is unable to convert thus far in the 2014 season.

Joao Plata - 7 Plata had a heavy touch once or twice when he could very well have had a scoring opportunity. On the plus side, he did slot home the second RSL goal of the night on a beautifully taken PK.

SUBSTITUTES

Kenny Mansally - N/A

Ned Grabavoy - 6 The return of Grabavoy is a welcome addition to a club that has been struggling a bit of late for veterans who know how to get a result. Grabavoy looked like his old self in the 15 minutes he played.

Cole Grossman - 6 Grossman looked more comfortable this game with Beckerman returning to the defensive midfield position. It seemed as though Grossman had a weight taken off of his shoulders.
