Player ratings against San Jose

Rimando and Morales helped earn a point on the road for Real Salt Lake.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 7.5 Rimando came up with a huge save that had just as much to do with RSL earning a point on the road as anything else. The lone Earthquakes goal was to no fault of his own.

Abdoulie Mansally - 6 Mansally seemed to have to do quite a bit of catch up defending but did well with his service.

Chris Schuler - 6.5 Schuler came up big a couple of times and put in a lot of work to keep San Jose from having more than three shots on goal.

Nat Borchers - 6.5 Borchers put in a lot of work just like Schuler and was also responsible for a less than dangerous Earthquakes attack.

Tony Beltran - 6 Beltran had a typical performance and helped thwart San Jose's attack as well. He skied a shot, but you have to take a crack once in a while, right?

Kyle Beckerman - 4 Beckerman is human it turns out. He had a poor, almost shocking pass that gave San Jose the ball right in front of goal. He had a few more flubs later, but put in a ton of work on defense to his credit. This is the one bad game he has every few years. I guess that's forgivable.

Ned Grabavoy - 6.5 Grabavoy had another night in which he put in a ton of work, got into the attack a few times, and did a lot of the dirty work. Mr. Reliable.

Luke Mulholland - 5 Mulholland had a pretty average night. He had a great chance or two on goal that very well could have secured the RSL lead, but he went wide with the ball.

Javier Morales - 7 For a guy coming back from injury, Morales looked really good. He put in all the work necessary of him and more and scored the lone RSL goal from the spot.

Olmes Garcia - 6 Garcia does look more confident these days and did well to make a run which led to a PK call. I have to think these minutes are going to pay dividends in years to come. He will turn the corner at some point just like Schuler did.

Joao Plata - 5 Plata had a quiet night, which we are not used to. San Jose had a game plan to take him out of the game and it worked pretty well. Here's to hoping he will thrive with Ecuador.

SUBSTITUTES

Luis Gil - N/A

Robbie Findley - 5 Findley barely had enough minutes to merit a rating, but he nearly got a shot off that could have killed the game off. He did good work defensively as per usual.

Cole Grossman - N/A
