Jeff Attinella - 8 Attinella was the standout player on the field for Real Salt Lake. Even though two goals got past him, neither was truly his fault. He made some impressive saves for not having seen minutes for a very long time. He also came up with a PK save to keep things even in the first half.
Chris Wingert - 5.5 Wingert looked sharp on some plays and a bit out of place on others. All in all, not bad.
Nat Borchers - 7 Borchers came up with his first goal of the season but unfortunately it did not result in points for RSL. He could have been in a bit better place on the second 'Caps goal, but the ball took a Vancouver bounce to be sure.
Carlos Salcedo - 5.5 The tackle in the box that led to the first Whitecaps goal was not a smart one. Salcedo has to be smarter about when to make those sort of attempts to win or deflect the ball. On the upside, he still looks very confident after his Mexico call-ups.
Abdoulie Mansally - 5.5 Mansally had an average performance, but nothing that stands out as overly impressive.
Kyle Beckerman - 6 Beckerman took some shots on goal from distance, but frankly is capable of more creativity that what he showed against Vancouver.
Luis Gil - 5.5 It has become clear to me that Gil is at his best when he is at the top of the diamond rather than on the side. He just doesn't look nearly as creative or comfortable in this role, which makes for less playing time than would be desired.
Luke Mulholland - 5.5 Mulholland had a comparatively quiet night compared to what we are used to. He was unable to provide the creative spark that he typically brings, but wasn't horrible either.
Javier Morales - 7 Morales was unlucky not to score a goal on some beautiful build up play between him, Saborio, and Plata. The keeper made a game-saving stop for the Whitecaps. He had a nice assist on the Borchers goal and was one of the brighter spots for RSL albeit not glowing.
Alvaro Saborio - 6 Sabo was involved in some good creative play but was not the threat we are used to seeing when he is on the field. He will bounce back at home again if the last four or five years tell us anything.
Joao Plata - 6 Plata had a good shot on goal but was unable to make it count. He set up his teammates a couple times, but it didn't turn out like we would have hoped.
Substitutes
Ned Grabavoy - 6 Even the experienced Ned Grabavoy looked pretty average on this night. He came on in a less than ideal situation but fought hard.
Sebastian Jaime - 6 Jaime brought a bit more of a scoring threat than was being seen, but with his best chance of the night when he probably should have chipped the ball on his first touch, he ended up not getting anything out of the beautiful run he had.
Sebastian Velasquez - N/A
