Real Salt Lake looked like they really wanted this game from the first whistle to the last. They pressed hard from the beginning and did well to create chances throughout. In the first half, Javier Morales was causing Dallas fits with his creative play while Findley and Garcia were giving them problems with their athleticism.
Robbie Findley had a great opportunity for a header but unfortunately it went wide right of the goal. He got what was coming to him later when a deflected shot from Mulholland ended up at Findley's feet and he went far post to slot his first goal of the 2014 season after a long drought post surgery.
In the second half, RSL did not have as much control as they did in the first and Michel was able to take a nice free kick around the defensive wall and there was nothing Nick Rimando could do about it.
Real Salt Lake fought hard but kept their composure. Jeff Cassar made a few subs that included the debut of Sebastian Jaime and the return of Alvaro Saborio after a 118 day sabbatical due to injury.
Javier Morales took a corner kick to resume play, and Alvaro Saborio headed it home in classic Sabo style on his first touch of the ball in months. RSL held on for the rest of the game and earned the three points at home.
