With the 77th pick in the 2015 MLS Draft, Real Salt Lake selected Lucas Baldin, a midfielder from University of South Florida from apparently both Brazil and Mexico.

Baldin played for Seattle Sounders FC U-23s, Vitoria in Brazil, Cruz Azul's U-17 side, and Toluca's U-20 side, lending him an international flair that isn't usually seen in the MLS draft and American college system. USF also lists him as having represented a Mexican youth international side, but more details on that are hard to find.

He's also played for Reading United (2012, 2014) and IMG Academy (2012 or earlier) in USL PDL. An ever-present for USF in 2014, starting all 20 matches, notched nine assists on the season and was a NSCAA East All-Region first-team player. Baldin also scored five goals in 2014, which is nothing to sneeze at, really.

Baldin was also a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist this year as a fans' selection.

Lucas Baldin is the only midfielder Real Salt Lake drafted in 2015.
