Rimando will have a chance to continue his strong streak for the United States, who have never lost a match in which the RSL goalkeeper starts. He's 13-3-0 all-time, which is nothing to sneeze at.
Gil's absence is probably not for injury reasons, with US coach Jurgen Klinsmann playing an experimental lineup that trends toward experience over youth. Klinsmann's lineup takes shape as a 3-5-2, featuring three center backs with Jermaine Jones at the center of them.
US Lineup (3-5-2 listed)Nick Rimando; Matt Besler, Jermaine Jones, Steve Birnbaum; Mix Diskerud, Clint Michael Bradley, Brek Shea, Clint Dempsey, DeAndre Yedlin; Bobby Wood, Jozy Altidore.
