The Utah State Fair Park Board is requesting funding for the fair grounds, and Real Monarchs is right in the thick of the discussions at the Utah state capitol today.
Ben Winslow, Fox 13 reporter and Twitter-personality extraordinaire, is on the scene. We'll break down the implications of all this when it starts to come together.
From some of the details emerging from the legislature, it's clear that there hasn't been a lot of attention paid to the Real Monarchs stadium process. Remember through all this, of course, that Dell Loy Hansen has said he'd foot the bill for the stadium.
At the end of all the nonsense, a working group to study the Real Monarchs deal was created. We'll see what comes out of this, but here's hoping it all goes quickly and smoothly before our plans are thrust into disarray once again.
Regardless, this shouldn't have a massive impact on the 2015 plans (outside of plans to plan and plans to build, of course), with Real Monarchs set to play at Rio Tinto Stadium this year.
