Real Salt Lake faces Portland Timbers to open the season, and we're wondering who gets the nod and who gets the ... well, the opposite of the nod in the lineup. The bench treatment?
Some answers will be easy, and some will be a little more tricky, but we think a first-choice lineup has been established through preseason, and we're not surprised who's in it. What do you think? Are we crazy people for this? (Probably.)
We've also trimmed our question about formations, because we seem to only have two viable formations right now. Which is pretty good, huh? Actually, yes. It's not bad at all.
Some things (questions, answers, the like) to keep in mind: John Stertzer and Joao Plata are both still out. Demar Phillips has trained fully since his hamstring injury and could be involved, but will he get the start? Will Luis Gil get the start after a strong preseason? Will Jeff Cassar make tactical decisions from the onset, and will he save players for substitute appearances? Will we see somebody unexpected in the starting lineup?
So many questions. Give us some answers.
