Rio Tinto Stadium should be the home to at least one final this year, with a report today surfacing that the venue will be home to the semifinal and final of the 2016 Olympics CONCACAF qualifying round.

Brian Sciaretta, who reports (quite reliably, at that) for the New York Times and American Soccer Now, first broke the news this afternoon, citing "sources." RSL Soapbox is seeking confirmation from the club.

The qualifying tournament takes place from Oct. 1 to Oct. 13, and with the semifinal round presumably coming two or three days before the final. Real Salt Lake has no matches at home during that time, with the next match on Oct. 14 at home against Portland Timbers.

Luis Gil has been frequently involved with the U-23 United States squad that would play in the tournament, so for him to have an opportunity to play with the national team.

It would be the first final to take place at Rio Tinto since Real Salt Lake's 1-0 loss in the 2013 US Open Cup. Rio Tinto was home to World Cup qualifying and some matches of the CONCACAF Gold Cup that year, as well.
