Elias Vasquez starting in place of Schuler

Elias Vasquez is starting in place of an apparently injured Chris Schuler in today's match against Sporting Kansas City.

It marks the first appearance for Vasquez, who arrived in the offseason.

Schuler did seem to have taken a knock and reportedly left with his knee wrapped in ice, according to Salt Lake Tribune reporter Chris Kamrani. However, Kamrani did report that Cassar said Schuler" checked out fine, which makes the absence slightly surprising.

Aaron Maund replaces Vasquez on the bench, with Phanuel Kavita playing in today's Real Monarchs match.

In other team news, Luis Gil is starting on the right side of the attacking triumvirate, while Abdoulie Mansally is again starting, with Demar Phillips on the bench.

The match kicks off at 6:30 p.m. in Kansas City.
