Monarchs, BYU opponents in US Open Cup announced, dates set

Utah's involvement in the US Open Cup is at an all-time high, with Real Salt Lake, Real Monarchs, and Brigham Young University each participating in the tournament this year.

Real Salt Lake will enter in the fourth round (the round of 32) and play on June 16 or 17. Pairings will be arranged to prevent parent teams playing feeder teams.

Real Monarchs will play in the second round on May 20, and it'll either be in New York or at Rio Tinto Stadium.

May 20, in South Huntington, New York or at Rio Tinto Stadium

Real Monarchs v. winner of Long Island Rough Riders (PDL) — match would be away, Brooklyn Italians (NPSL) — match would be home (Rio Tinto)

BYU, in USL PDL, will play in the first round against an amateur club side. If they progress, they'll play Colorado Springs Switchbacks.
