Real Salt Lake will face one of their northwest rivals' USL teams in the fourth round of the US Open Cup, as they've been drawn with the winner of a third-round match between Portland Timbers 2 and Seattle Sounders 2.

And in other facing-rival news, Real Monarchs, if they do beat Colorado Springs Switchbacks in the third round, would travel to Colorado Rapids for a fourth round match.

This means there will, at the very least, be third and fourth round US Open Cup matches at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Real Salt Lake's record against lower-league opposition has been somewhat mixed; they lost to NASL's Atlanta Silverbacks in the fourth round in 2014, but they beat Atlanta in the third round in their 2013 run. Additionally, 2013 saw RSL come up against (and defeat) USL Pro's Charleston Battery and Carolina NASL's Railhawks on their path to the final.

In 2012, RSL lost to NASL side Minnesota Stars, while in 2011, they beat USL's Wilmington Hammerheads.
