Player Ratings: RSL 2-1 Sporting KC | Home team wins in style on late winnner

There were quite a few solid performances at home for Real Salt Lake in the team's 2-1 win over Sporting KC.

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 7 Rimando did what he needed to to give RSL a living chance at winning the game. He made a fantastic save on Dom Dwyer and a couple others that were nothing to sneeze at.

Demar Phillips - 6.5 Phillips had the tall task of matching up against Graham Zusi and he did pretty well with it. He got up and down the field plenty and kept him relatively under wraps.

Aaron Maund - 7 Maund stepped up when the opportunity presented itself as he has pretty much all season. He solidified his status against Sporting KC as a very reliable backup.

Justen Glad - 7 The 18-year-old played composed and helped keep KC to just one goal (that very well could have been a shutout.) It is very noticeable just how comfortable he is with the ball at his feet.

Tony Beltran - 6.5 Beltran did really well to battle and win the ball back multiple times and had himself a nice game. He had some giveaways now and again, but that does not take away from a lot of the positives.

Luke Mulholland - 6 Mulholland put in a full night's shift running just as much or more than anybody on the field. He especially impressed with his work on the defensive end.

Kyle Beckerman - 6.5 Beckerman was the heart that kept the team beating after giving up a goal in the first half. His emotions were high and he deserves a lot of credit for willing the team to a win.

Javier Morales - 9 Morales had two assists on the night and created 10 chances (according to @optajack), tying the 2015 MLS high. There's not much else to say.

Joao Plata - 6.5 Plata is getting back to Plata of 2014 with every minute he plays. He was unlucky not to score and brought a lot of energy to the game.

Devon Sandoval - 6.5 Sandoval battled and bruised but did not finish a very clear chance early in the first half. In fairness, Tim Melia stood on his head to save Sandoval's other scoring chance in the second half. Not a bad game.

Sebastian Jaime - 7.5 Jaime's header was quality. He put it in one of the few places it could go to get past the keeper, perfectly placed at the top left corner off the crossbar. It's worth watching a few times. Now let's hope there are more to come.

Substitutes

Luis Gil - 6 Gil brought some oomph to the match and was able to take some pressure off of Javier Morales. He put the ball in some good places for his teammates and helped push KC on their heels.

Olmes Garcia - 7 Garcia proved why he is a super sub. He came on and brought energy and speed and got the stoppage time goal, albeit with some help from the Sporting KC deflection.

Jordan Allen - 6.5 Allen looked great after returning from the U-20's World Cup. He earned a valuable corner in what looked nearly impossible towards the end of the game. RSL and the fans are happy to have his skill back on the field.
