Real Salt Lake vs. New York Red Bulls: TV info, what to watch, and team news

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Real Salt Lake takes on New York Red Bulls, and while the glitz and glamour has faded somewhat, there's no reason to think this won't be an interesting matchup.

Real Salt Lake lineup

Real Salt Lake's lineup is nearly unchanged, with John Stertzer stepping in for suspended Kyle Beckerman, who accumulated one too many yellow cards. Justen Glad, 18, continues with his second MLS start.

Starting XI: Rimando; Beltran, Glad, Maund, Phillips; Stertzer, Mulholland, Morales; Jaime, Sandoval, Plata

Bench: Attinella, Mansally, Kavita, Pecka, Gil, Garcia, Allen

How to watch

Where: Red Bull Arena; Harrison, N.J.

When: 5:30 p.m. MDT

Watch on TV: Live on KMYU (2.2 OTA, 12 satellite, 22 Comcast)

Stream online: MLS Live

What to watch

How will Justen Glad and Aaron Maund fare against BWP?

Bradley Wright-Phillips is one of the more potent goal scorers in MLS, and part of that is down to being in the right positions at the right time. Will the young Glad continue to impress in only his second MLS start, and can Maund avoid making crucial mistakes?

Is Stertzer capable of replacing Beckerman?

The one question we simply haven't answered this season — and probably can't answer, given the relative few minutes played by Stertzer. But is Stertzer, a good midfielder in his own right, going to be a Beckerman-style player in the long term, or is he more comfortable in attacking roles?

Can pressure from the front continue?

One of the more important parts of maintaining an attacking approach against a dangerous team is in applying pressure from all areas of the pitch. Can Devon Sandoval continue to provide that for RSL in defensive phases of the game? Will Plata and Jaime keep that up?
