Player ratings: RSL 2:2 Columbus Crew

Garcia and Beltran had some great showings against the Crew at home.

Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6.5 Rimando had a couple of pretty good saves while on the other hand a couple of goals got past him. To be sure, he was not fully to blame but this was not a special night like we have seen many times before.

Abdoulie Mansally - 6 Mansally had a decent night after not seeing the field much lately. He gave it his all and provided decent service.

Aaron Maund - 6.5 Maund had his work cut out for him and has done well for a few games in a row now. Considering he is technically the fourth CB option for RSL I think he has done a great job.

Phanuel Kavita - 6 Considering that this was the Salt Lake City native's first minutes in MLS, he was very good. He matched up a lot with the leading goalscorer in the league and kept him relatively quiet. Kavita seemed to be chasing quite a bit when the ball was played wide, but he recovered well and showed he can compete at this level.

Tony Beltran - 7.5 Tony was good. Really good. He made four passes that led to scoring chances. That is something you might expect out of an attacking midfielder. He won the ball plenty and was one of the best players on the field.

Luke Mulholland - 6.5 Mulholland started the masterful free kick play with perfect timing. That was the highlight of the night for him. He earned his keep on defense but was not involved too much in the offense.

Kyle Beckerman - 6.5 I think Beckerman had the toughest role to play in the free kick play. If he did not flick that perfectly to Plata, the whole thing is botched. Outside of that, he provided some great balls to the forwards and energized the club.

Luis Gil - 6.5 Gil had the kind of night where he made some passes to players that then made key passes. In other words, he quietly had a very good game. The biggest complaint on my end was that the chances he himself had to score left us wanting.

Joao Plata - 7 Plata was really close to scoring, but contributed with a nice header assist to Garcia. He is going to open his MLS account for 2015 at any minute now.

Olmes Garcia- 7.5 This was as good of a game as we have seen from Garcia in a couple of years. He was threatening to score all night (and did score once), but not only that, he was putting in work on defense as well. Hopefully this means he is finding his niche.

Sebastian Jaime - 7 Jaime all of the sudden has a couple of goals to his name. This goal was purely about hustle and timing. He earned it, no doubt.

Substitutes

Devon Sandoval - 4.5 It seemed like Sandoval had lost his touch. He couldn't hold on to the ball or make the right pass, but he came into the game when things were getting a little out of hand anyways.

Jordan Allen - 3.5 It was a clear red card tackle with both feet up and studs showing. It was unfortunate because we know what Allen brings to a game. He was doing some cool things running at players before that happened to seal the tie.

Boyd Okwuonu - 5.5 Not a bad 10 minutes from Okwuonu in his debut. He helped keep the Crew from scoring the game winning goal as much as anyone in the last minutes of the game.
