Real Monarchs will face local university BYU's PDL outfit today in a friendly — a substitute match for a game that would have been played against Real Colorado.
Real Monarchs vs. BYU Cougars

For whatever reason, Real Colorado forfeited their final match of the PDL season, which was against BYU. Real Monarchs must have stepped in, because this is a big one for the University side — it's the last match for a number of seniors, including Scan founder Garrett Gee.
Monarchs have played a few mid-season friendlies to this point, which seems well enough — they can't exactly do a whole lot worse in the league standings, and more time often means more opportunities for the less-established core.
But beyond that, it will also offer playing time to some talented youngsters — and it could help them see that oft-quoted "Path to Pro" more clearly.
RSL-AZ players involved
Junior Estrada, McKay Eves, and Miles Stray, all from the Real Salt Lake academy in Casa Grande, Arizona, will be participating in the match in some form, although it's hard to say how extensive their involvement will be. All three have been standouts with RSL-AZ's U-16 side.
