With 17 of 19 sites reporting in, Kansas City still in the drivers seat, Dallas jumps, New England & RSL fall.

MLS Power Ranking Averages - Week 19

17 of the 19 sites published this week.

Here's a reminder of the Power Ranking "Guidelines":

"If two teams played tomorrow, given their current injury concerns, form, and other considerations, who is likely to win on a neutral field? This list is designed to tell you who we feel is most likely to win that match-up. All things being equal, who is the best team going forward, based on what we know now?"

You may notice several 'team specific' sites used; yes they will at times be a bit more biased for/against certain teams, as such the averages use the Olympic Method of dropping the highest and lowest scores, and averaging the rest to compensate for possible bias.  Each week I'll also be listing the sites closest and furthest from average to show which are more biased than others.

  • Most Accurate Site: (best Exact, with +1 as tiebreaker) Reddit /r/ MLS narrowly beats out Soccer In America.
  • Least Accurate Site: (most 3+ with +2 as tiebreaker) American Soccer Analysis yet again
  • Furthest Off: American Soccer Analysis with DCU 16 places higher than average.
  • Site with Worst Bias: American Soccer Analysis for placing DCU an average of 15.46 places worse than their average.  Due to their practice of using past season results for trends, it would seem that DCU's ranking isn't likely to improve greatly - they did move up 0.10 this week!
  • Sites with Least Bias - all with bias for/against less than 2:
    • 1st - Reddit /r/MLS
    • 2nd - Soccer In America
    • 3rd - The Mane Land
