Real Salt Lake will have a familiar foe for their US Open Cup semifinal after Sporting Kansas City mounted a comeback against Houston Dynamo tonight at Sporting Park.
Only three weeks or so after playing Sporting KC — from this Friday to either August 11 or 12 — RSL will be tasked with facing them again.
That match will come smack-dab in the middle of a very busy August schedule, with RSL on a four game road trip to start the month.
It starts with D.C. United on Aug. 1, followed by a quick trip to Guatemala to face Municipal in CONCACAF Champions League on Aug. 4, then Vancouver on Aug. 8, and Sporting KC on Aug. 11 or 12.
And they'll be tasked with doing it all with a team with a few injuries at the moment, too — but by the same token, Kyle Beckerman and Nick Rimando will definitely be back from Gold Cup duty, even if the United States makes the tournament final.
