Real Monarchs lose another, drop 1-0 to OC Blues

Real Monarchs dropped yet another match in their long run of points-dropping, this time with a 1-0 loss to OC Blues.

Only seconds in to the match, Monarchs could have conceded, with OC Blues making a run down their right side almost directly from kick-off.

Opportunities didn't exactly flow for the Monarchs in the first half, who had one good chance in the first half when Ricardo Velazco flashed a ball across the face of goal, with forward Max Rauhofer unable to finish.

The first half ended on a sour note for the Monarchs, when Eric Osswald parried away one shot, only to have OC Blues' Denzel Slager fire home the rebound from a tough angle out wide.

The second half was all Monarchs, with the team taking 13 shots, forcing seven saves in the process. Some of those saves bordered on the spectacular, which will leave Real Monarchs scratching their heads a bit. But until the team can stem the flow of conceded goals, they won't be likely to start earning points with any frequency.

The Monarchs will face OC Blues again next weekend, this time at home for the first time since July 11.
