Real Monarchs would love nothing more than to move on from their 5-1 defeat on Thursday night. They don't have to travel too far to face their next opponent as they head from Tulsa to Oklahoma City to take on OKC Energy FC.
OKC Energy are 10-5-7 on the season, and sit second in the Western Conference behind Colorado Springs. With the loss to Tulsa on Thursday, RMSLC fall to 2-12-7 on the season, and occupying the bottom of the table.
The Monarchs face a familiar face to Real Salt Lake fans, as former Sporting KC keeper Jimmy Nielsen is the head coach for OKC. Nielsen's team has won three straight, and will be looking to make it four against RMSLC.
Despite their record, the Monarchs have been in almost every game, and nine of their 12 losses have been decided by one goal. The potential is there to turn things around and finish off the season strong.
The two teams square off at Taft Stadium Saturday at 6 p.m. Mountain. Stream it on YouTube or below.
