The Real Monarchs finally broke thought with a victory over the Colorado Springs Switchbacks 2-1 Wednesday night. They will hope to continue those winning ways Friday night as Seattle Sounders 2 visit Rio Tinto Stadium.
The Monarch's victory brings their record to 3-13-8. Sounders 2 come in with a 12-9-3 record, tied for third place in the west with Colorado Springs. RMSLC is hoping to turn their win into a winning streak. S2 is fighting for better playoff position as they are only three points out of first place.
Emery Welshman is solidifying himself as a go-to striker for the Monarchs. The Guyanese Nation Team player scored both goals for the Monarchs Wednesday, and brings his goal total to five on the season, two behind team leader Max Rauhofer. Seattle is lead by Pablo Rossi who also have seven goals, and Darwin Jones and Andy Craven have five goals a piece.
The two teams kick off Friday at 7:00 p.m Mountain Daylight Time, 8 p.m. Pacific.
