Sebastian Saucedo, 18, is making his first MLS start tonight against Vancouver Whitecaps, featuring on the left side of a three-man attacking line alongside Devon Sandoval and Olmes Garcia.
Last time Saucedo played against Vancouver, he was sent off only minutes after coming on with an over-eager, too-high tackle on Mauro Rosales.
Joining Saucedo with his first Real Salt Lake start is Luis Silva in place of Javier Morales, with RSL playing a second-choice lineup ahead of Wednesday's US Open Cup semifinal against Sporting Kansas City.
Justen Glad starts at right back, while Phanuel Kavita will get his first start since a June 27 2-2 draw against Columbus Crew.
Nick Rimando, Aaron Maund, Tony Beltran, Demar Phillips, Kyle Beckerman, Luke Mulholland, Javier Morales, Joao Plata, and Sebastian Jaime are all being rested after a grueling two-match span against D.C. United and RSL's first CCL opponents of the campaign, Municipal.
Several of those players are available on the bench for RSL, although coach Jeff Cassar may be reluctant to call upon them unless the going gets rough for RSL.
