With the release of any kit comes an inevitable wave of reaction — and it's often more negative than it ends up a few days post-release, but that's sort of the name of the game when it comes to kit releases.
Real Salt Lake's kit release is no different.
But this one seems a little different. While 2014 brought the kit with the weird thing on the front (it was a crown, if you weren't aware), 2016 brings the no-cobalt Claret and Cobalt.
Not quite, of course — there's more to it than that. There's a distinct possibility that we'll see the highly vaunted cobalt shorts, the club said on Twitter — and that makes everything seem a little more rosy.
@theshums @RealSaltLake #RSL used to have a great & distinctive look. Red on red is just cut and paste of #TFC, Chicago, Dallas, PTFC,....

Awful. Completely disappointed if those are the new kits. No cobalt. Awful. #RSL https://t.co/wE0ZJ2Op7q

Claret and cobalt? #RSL used to have one of the best kits in #MLS. Now another unneeded "red team". https://t.co/EGKBSVY7P9

Not everyone was so negative, though.
#RSL's new kits though

I'll have to see the jersey up close and the material, but this is quite possibly my favorite home jersey #RSL has ever had.

Digging the new @RealSaltLake jerseys. Simple and clean.

We'll have more photos tomorrow, when the club will certainly unveil the kits to the press in full. Keep your eyes peeled and all that.
