Real Salt Lake has the strongest representation of any team in Tab Ramos’s most recent United States under-20 national team camp, with Sebastian Saucedo, Justen Glad, Danilo Acosta, and Aaron Herrera named today.
Saucedo, Glad, and Acosta are all members of the first team; Herrera is a graduate of Real Salt Lake’s Arizona-based academy, and he’s been playing at University of New Mexico.
The camp will be held in San Jose, Costa Rica, and will feature two matches against the Costa Rican U-20 side. It will serve as a means of preparation for the CONCACAF U-20 Championship, which takes place in February and March and is the qualifying tournament for the FIFA 2017 U-20 World Cup.
Sebastian Saucedo spent the season on loan with Veracruz and is slated for a return to Real Salt Lake at the end of the year, assuming the Mexican side opts not to exercise an option to purchase Saucedo’s contract. It remains to be seen which way this will fall, but he played only intermittently in Liga MX.
